About Good Day

The bright, airy feel of the space immediately invites a casual yet focused dining experience, where the hum of quiet conversations and barista machines blend seamlessly. Exploring the offerings at this cafe reveals a balance between classic breakfast staples and inventive twists, evident in their carefully crafted dishes. The well-curated Good Day menu avoids unnecessary complexity, yet delivers intriguing flavor combinations that show thoughtful preparation and local ingredient sourcing. Though some plates border on the familiar, the overall execution is consistent, and the staff tend to maintain attentiveness without overwhelming the diners, an aspect often highlighted in various Good Day reviews.

A delicate poise between modern minimalism and warmth colors the overall atmosphere, making it a comfortable spot to linger over a coffee or a quick bite. The well-captured Good Day photos online reflect the aesthetic reality—natural light, wooden accents, and an uncluttered presentation that extends to the food. On the palate, textures range from crispy edges on baked goods to creamy, smooth blends in breakfast bowls, though occasionally some items arrive with a touch less seasoning than expected. Pricing aligns with what one might anticipate for a neighborhood cafe, presenting a fair value that encourages repeat visits without the sting of premium markups.

Attention to detail stands out in subtle ways here, especially with beverage preparation that complements the food rather than competes against it. Often, when browsing Good Day restaurant feedback, the combination of friendly but unobtrusive service shows a genuine focus on visitor comfort rather than routine efficiency. While this cafe may not break new ground in culinary innovation, it succeeds in crafting a welcoming environment accompanied by dependable quality. This balance provides a quietly satisfying venue for those who appreciate straightforward food done well, without the need for embellishment or excess flair.

This is hands down the best breakfast spot in all of New Zealand. Everything—from the combinations to the layers to the flavors—is absolutely perfect. Just look at our empty plates and you’ll know how delicious it was!

I've been coming here for my coffee and cheese scone combo for a few years now. I must say, they make the most delicious cheese scones I have ever eaten. And yummy coffee to match. The coffee is always consistent across the team, I always enjoy every sip. Jackie (owner) she's very thoughtful, shows kindness and empathy in every conversation, not only to me but all her customers. Shout out to the team as well for their wonderful, warm and kind service! I'm about to relocate out of town and I will miss this place for their wonderful service, coffee and of course ... cheese scones!

I’ve realized how much I enjoy these casual neighborhood spots. The staff exude an easygoing kindness, and as a newcomer, I feel like a welcomed stranger. Most of the regulars don’t even need to place their orders— the servers already know their favorite drinks and dishes. I hear this is what they call Kiwi style. The food is simple yet far from boring, with layers of rich flavors. Today, I tried their new summer special—refreshing and delightfully light.

Open early - friendly smiles and great service. Try the gingerbread- it's simply out of this world! Breakfast bagel with fried eggs - hits the spot! And coffee served as you like it! Early mornings see lots of walk ins and foot traffic. Streetside parking- seating indoor and out. - well worth the visit if you're in the area. Two thumbs up!

The best cafe! 10/10 coffee, and a great food selection too. The cheese scones are the best I’ve ever had - so light and fluffy. And the ginger slice is delicious. Such a perfect neighbourhood cafe.

Excellent coffee, but the takeaway for a long black is served without a skeeve, which makes holding the ucp a challenge (being too hot)

A small cafe in the beautiful suburb of Ōrākei. We only went there because the cafe is very highly rated and rightly so. The staff is super friendly and considerate. We went around lunch time on Sunday when the cafe was packed but we managed to secure seats outside in the cold and our drinks order was taken almost immediately. Outdoor seaters are provided with blankets to keep warm. Looking at the jaunty crowd and aromatic smelling food, we were ready to battle the cold to try it out. Little did we know, that the staff would request us to move into a table inside when it became available, even when we didn’t request for a table inside. So thoughtful! We ordered 2 coffees( flat white & Cap) both were very well made and we also got the green smoothie, which was delicious. For mains, we got the doorstop toastie was so scrumptious, the bread was crispy but not oily and jalapenos were spread evenly inside. So every bite had the perfect balance of crispy bread, melted cheese and jalapeños. My partner got the Chorizo scramble and rated it a 5/5. He has been reminiscing them from his trip in the States and so finally, he got lucky to enjoy this delectable dish at this cafe. We also ordered the soup of the day, pumpkin soup. I wouldn’t recommend this soup as we felt it was quite a heavy dish to share with two others main ones The consistency was very thick and is immensely filling. However, the soup also comes with 2 slices of well toasted sourdough bread and butter, which we were incapable of neglecting. So we had one each with an overload of butter on top and happily stuffed ourselves. The table next to us ordered the avocado toast and the French toast of which a morsel wasn’t left. Therefore, for next time we are sure to get them two.
